Alum Ben Watkins – the master chef junior is dead at 14
Alum Ben Watkins, the master chef junior who entire America fell in love with on season 6 is dead just at 14 due to a rare type of cancer.
Alum Ben Watkins showed an inclination towards the culinary arts from a very early stage of life. He showed this interest as he worked and used to spend his time by helping his parents to run the family restaurant. The name of the restaurant is Big Ben’s Bodacious Barbecue, Bakery, & Deli named after their son, the chef.
He became very popular at the age of eleven as he completed among the pinnacle 18 in Fox’s strike culinary contest. He instantly gained fame and thus became a fan favourite among a vast group of the audience as he charmed his way through them. All very much loved him due to his upbeat attitude and talent that he possessed.
Gordon Ramsay tweeted on the passing away of Alum Ben Watkins saying that we the people have lost a master of the MasterChefJrFOX kitchen now. He praised Ben’s incredible talent of a home cook and also what a healthy human Ben was. Gordon Ramsay gravely added that the young man had so many challenging turns in life and yet he always preserved. Ramsay sent prayers of love and safety to Ben’s family with this appalling loss.
Ben lost his parents at such a young age, and the tragedy of losing his parents was ruled out as a murder-suicide. Two years later, Ben was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer named as angimatoid fibrous histiocytoma and wretchedly it claimed his life.
Ben’s maternal grandmother Donna Edwards and his uncle Anthony Edward let loose the grave tragic news with a heart-wrenching statement.
“Our Ben went home to be with his mother Monday afternoon after a year-and-a-half-long battle with Cancer. After losing both of his parents in September 2017, we have marvelled at Ben’s strength, courage and love for life. He never, ever complained. Ben was and always will be the strongest person we know. When Ben’s rare illness was shared with the world, he was so heart broken by the outpouring of love he received from every corner of the globe — especially in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. We cannot thank his community enough for holding our family up in prayer and for all that you’ve done. Ben suffered more than his share in his 14 years on this Earth, but we take solace in that his suffering is finally over and in that, in the end, Ben knew he was loved by so many. #Love4Ben”
Let us pray for Ben and his family as we mourn the loss of an incredible and excellent chef and a kind soul as well.
